Managers Are Using AI to Make Layoff and Firing Decisions — With Little Oversight
59% of surveyed managers report using AI to help decide who gets laid off, and 58% for firing decisions — most commonly weighing performance, attendance, and cost. Concerningly, 14% say their AI tools factor in age (a protected class), 38% have received no ethical-AI training, and 58% can't confirm their company tested the tools for bias.
